Dear Guests, Benefactors, and Friends of St. Francis of Assisi School,

Welcome to the 17th Annual St. Francis of Assisi School Auction!

This year’s theme is “Catch the Spirit!”  It is a catchy (no pun intended) theme for all of us to ponder as its Scriptural and Biblical roots means “to inspire.”  Inspiration comes from various sources.  Sometimes it is something we read, that we see, or that we hear.

Whatever the source may be, we remember that very moment that our heart is touched, our spirit uplifted, and our mind engaged.  It is such of these precious moments created, experienced, and shared with others that is made possible with your generous and dedicated support to St. Francis of Assisi School’s Mission of Catholic Education and Formation.

I was once told by the late Janice Pelster who had decades of experience working with various non-profits, social outreach agencies such as St. Vincent de Paul Society, and family foundations that it is no so much Fundraising as it is FRIENDraising.  In other words, the most important objective is to build, forge, and maintain relationships, connections, and community.

And the individual person or group that you are advocating for should be seen always as Christ himself who was poor, who was displaced from a place to call home, and who was the student at the age of 12 asking and answering questions amongst the Rabbis in the Temple and grew in age and wisdom.

But also inspire those who have the resources and blessings financially in forms of time, talent, and treasure to become more like Christ who was generous, giving, and gracious in sharing his gifts human and divine.

Tonight, as we gather as a community united in the same goal of Catholic Education and Formation may we “Catch the Spirit” and continue to create, share, and maintain a safe, loving, and caring environment for our students to have memorable relationships, connections, and friendships with one another that will inspire each of them to become the very “best version” of themselves.

Gratefully in Christ,

Jannelle Mayo, Principal

and

Fr. Michael Vuky, Pastor
